LOM PRAHA was awarded with contract for two Mi-17 helicopters overhaul

Prague, February 2013: LOM PRAHA was awarded with contract for two Mi-17 helicopters overhaul from the U.S. company SES-i. The contract relates to overhaul of two Mi-17 helicopters, which were owned by the Czech Air Force for some period in the past.

Helicopters arrived in January 2013 and LOM assumes the overhaul will take approximately six months. After the overhaul the helicopters will be transported to U.S. by transport aircraft Antonov An-124 Ruslan and will be used for training purposes at Fort Rucker, Alabama, the U.S. Army Aviation Centre of Excellence. LOM PRAHA won this contract as a result of excellent references from the last year, when it modernized three helicopters Mi-171Sh for the Czech Air Force. The modernization, covering among others ballistic protection enhancement and FLIR installation, was co-financed by the Government of the United States and the machines are used to support NATO special operations in Afghanistan.
