The Minister of Defense appointed a new director of the state enterprise LOM PRAHA s.p.
The change of personnel was caused by the resignation of the current director of LOM PRAHA s.p., Mr. JUDr. Jan Rouček, who at the beginning of the year decided to resign for health reasons. Due to the current economic situation of the company, created partly due to the limitations associated with the current epidemiological crisis, and the extraordinary strategic role played by the state enterprise LOM PRAHA, the Ministry of Defense sought a qualified person with experience in defense and crisis management.
Therefore, the Minister of Defense decided to appoint the director of the state enterprise VTÚ s.p., Mgr. Jiří Protiva, who took up the management position in VTÚ in 2015 in a similarly unfavorable economic situation. During his tenure, the company become an internationally recognized institute, which boasts a top level of defense and security research and development.
For this reason, the Ministry of Defense places full confidence in the newly appointed director in improving the economic situation of LOM PRAHA s.p. and continuity in fulfilling strategic functions regarding to state, especially the successful acquisition of capacity and capabilities required to service and operate the H-1 western platform helicopter training systems about which the state-owned enterprise is currently negotiating intensively.
